I've discoverd that comics fans hate this trailer, yet non-comics fans love it, and considering to read the comics. maybe thats the whole point?

Yeah, all the Comic Movies are aimed that the Masses.

Which is why Comic Fans usually hate them.

But we just want to see a kickass movie the way we know it can be made. That's all.

In the end, it makes the Studio money, which is what its about. And like you said, it will generate some sales boost for the comics, albeit a very short boost - comic sales always return back to pre-movie sales a few months after the movie comes out.

Green Lantern... "eh". hopefully it will be at least an entertaining movie 'cause i've never given a shit purposefully about the character while fanboys LOVE the whole Green Lantern thing. personally think if they wanted to make movies to make $$$, then they will make w/ an R-RATED DEADPOOL.

all the parents who just let their kids see crap movies are nothing but a "drop in the bucket" to the powers that be, which is only smart when you're looking for the fools "born every minute", which won't make you near as much $$ in the LONGRUN as making good product that those who know & love will buy and buy.

figure it the fuck out already.

The fanmade trailer that used Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern looked better. While the fan trailer could cherry pick scenes from big budget projects, that is still a bad sign. The real trailer looks kind of...low budget isn't the word. Bad? The scenes, not the effects but rather the scenes themselves, look like something made for TV. Carol's(?) one line sounded rather wooden. It just seemed really underwhelming.

As for the effects, the suit looked as bad as the color edit/photoshop job in the fan trailer, which is a really bad sign.

I don't want to see that douchebag, body paint looking nakedness for 2 hours. Why didn't the give him a "real" suit and CG the effects on top. Not going to watch this man's junk in 3D, it all just looks weird......and Hal Jordan is not a wise cracking ass, that's Deadpool....

sh_t, even Super Friends was closer than this crap....

A few of you reflected my frustration with current comic movies/shows. It's this rationalization of " These movies are made for the masses, and not fans " because non- fans don't know the character any way, so anything you give them that looks flashy, and exciting sells, because it looks "fun".From my point of view, it's like finding someone who has NEVER eaten a cheeseburger before, and someone throws them one from the McDonald's 99cent menu. YEA, to THEM it's probably going to be pretty good, if not great. But that's because they have nothing to compare it to. They're missing out on something that could be incredible, and awesome, and instead they get a cheap, easy product. ( McDonald's makes a lot of money, but are you seriously going to tell me they make a good burger??)
- That's the frustration.

ps Baines,..just wanted to say thank you for a well thought out, well written ( better than my writing) argument and rebuttal instead of snide comments and resorting to name calling. It's nice to actually DISCUSS something.
