**While searching for pics for this post, I stumbled upon the awesome website FRANKENSTEINIA
where many of the above images came from. Check it out, its a superb Frankenstein resourse site. I've also added it to the links section of JimSmash
. Thanks, Frankensteinia!

Great list, but Christopher Lee's Frankenstein from "The Curse of Frankenstein" is missing.

I had considered putting Lee's up there... While I love Lee's horror, I found his Frankenstein lacking a bit. Maybe I need to see it again.

Plus, I already reached 30 Frankensteins and decided to just stop there.

Monster Squad Frankenstein clocking in at 26!?! BOGUS!

Jim said...

well, if you look closely, this post is not a "TOP ## List", but merely and simply "30 Frankensteins"........ they are LOOSELY in order, but yes, he is up at that spot. Come on... it's Monster Squad... be happy he even made the list! :P

cant belive that frankenstein from the adams family isnt even there! BLASPHMY!

was there a frankenstein in the addams family? I don't recall one. I mean, there was Lurch, but he was more a zombie-esque brood than "Frankenstein". I thought Herman Munster was the only frankenstein of the 2 shows. Both rocked.

I say no neck-bolts, no frankenstein. :)

LURCH was not a "Frankenstein",..He was a Zombie/undead slave....

no scars, nothing that suggested a "construct" of any sort,.....

:)

Ha - I just wanted an excuse to use the "bogus" line. Now when you do a top 30 Gerard Depardieu movies list and you don't include the one I'm thinking of, I'll get to use it again!

BTW - there's a great gallery on Ventura Blvd near Laurel Canyon in Studio City. They sell black and white prints of mostly old Hollywood stuff. There's a great one I've been meaning to buy for a while - it's of Boris Karloff in the make up chair, full Frankenstein make up, enjoying a cup of tea. You could call it "Tea Lovin' Frank" or something.

Question, was Monster Squad's Frankenstein monster just Ted Danson not in makeup?

DeNiro Frankenstein!

ok , i am shocked to see Bobby' Deinero not be in this list

oh and jim =] , wildstorm frankenstien is called "the lone one" by the vampires and werewolves in wetworks series one (mid 90's)

and i dont know how this is gonna fly with you , but how bout the female version [ FRANKEN STEELA]
from the Resurrection of Monstress toy line ?

sorry, guys - but I hated the DeNiro Frankenstein, which is why I intentionally left if off the list. but hey, I gave you the Monster Squad one!

thanks for the "The Lone One" info.... my Wetworks comics are currently in storage and I couldn't find ANYTHING on him online... not even a pic from the comic (hence the lame action figure pic used).

Ha, "franken steela"

well to be honest i actually had to pay full price for the issues he was in an the artist was at the time one of my most hated .
dont get me wrong WW was a great comic when portacio was drawing.

best i can say is to only download Wetworks series 1 issues 1 - 13 cus the first time that you see the lone one , the art is amazing then they crapped it up with no details

J
(ps does Jason from FRIDAY the 13th count ??) or
how bout jesus ^__^
everyones favorite Undead savior
[ actually serius on these 2 ]

Jim said...

Yeah, I have those Wetworks issues from when they came out. At the time I was digging Portacio's art. And yeah, I remember the first time you see The Lone One it was pretty sweet. Just after, didn't Portacio take a leave from the book and horrible art resided within the book after that?... eh, I'll just keep the stupid toy pic up for now.

I would say Jason Vorhees and Jesus are ZOMBIES, not a Frankenstein.
:)

wise man say : only core issues of wetworks done by portacio count . .
( for the sake of his art , i am going to pretend it never happened)

and i know its gana be in bad , aweful taste *but thanks for not including the BIG DADDY kid named frankenstien *(yup , adam sandler movie)

maybe u can clear something up for me , ALIEN never did a frankenstien type story right ?

much love , jag
